Post Workout Smoothie (inspired by Simnett Nutrition)

Updated: Jan 28, 2020

Ingredients:

11/2 cups filtered water

1 medium banana

4 oz mixed greens (Large tub of pre-made organic mix from Zehrs that has lettuce, spinach, kale, arugala, etc. in it)

1 date (Medjool work best)

1 organic orange wedge

2 tbsp ground flax seed (organic if possible!)

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp organic turmeric (I've been buying whole organic turmeric and throwing in a big chunk!)

1 pinch black pepper

2 ice cubes (optional - I add after blending to keep mixture cool if I don't drink it right away)

Directions:

Mix everything in a blender. Start at low speed to allow spinach and dates to break down. Then mix on high for about 20 seconds.

This makes about 3 cups of smoothie. Add more water if you find it too thick! I make this smoothie everyday, whether I work out or not. I've noticed that my post workout aches and pains have subsided and my energy has gone up after incorporating this smoothie into my daily meal plan.

Enjoy!
