Three generations of Canadian women on a journey toward a completely plant-based life

Written By: Myca & Heide

It has taken us a few years to get to this point. For four years now, we have been learning about what we consider to be important factors that keep our bodies, our homes and our planet healthy. In 2013, my father died from complications of COPD. One year later, my mother-in-law died from an aggressive brain tumor. When my mother found a lump in her breast not six months later, this news brought me to my knees.

My Mom has always been wary of Western medicine and looked for natural ways of dealing with her health issues. Now, faced with a life and death situation, there were discussions around the wisdom of continuing to pursue this path or the possibility of incorporating chemotherapy into the mix. There was a lot of fear and emotional turmoil at this point. But, four years later, Heide is still pursuing a path outside conventional Western medicine based on surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. Perhaps the best outcome from all of this is that it brought about a profound change in lifestyle for our entire family. These four years have seen a steady move toward a completely plant-based life. It didn’t happen all at once - we’re not there yet!

Our goal for this website is to provide a platform where we can not only share our journey, but more importantly, provide a conduit for the information and inspiration the many doctors, educators, activists and survivors have taught us.

We look forward to connecting with like-minded people who share our passion for learning about living a whole-food, plant-based lifestyle.
